Ines is a German alpinist and one of the most accomplished ice and mixed climbers in the sport's history. A four-time ice climbing world champion, she left competition to chase unclimbed lines: the first ascent of Nepal's 6,719-metre Likhu Chuli I, a bold new route up Kyrgyzstan's Kyzyl Asker, and many first ascents besides. Three decades at the cutting edge while raising her son, she is still drawn to what no one has climbed - and to seeing more women dare the same.

“Fear is inevitable, and beneficial in healthy measures, the trick is being able to handle it.”In conversation with BASE Magazine
“I think practising is the only way to become a better climber. There's no other rule except doing it because it can be so different every time.”In conversation with BASE Magazine
