About her

Georgina is an American mountaineer, adventurer, and activist pursuing the Explorers Grand Slam, a feat fewer than thirty women have completed. Her journeys have taken her across all seven continents and far beyond the Grand Slam, reaching some of the planet's most remote and rapidly changing places. Since 2008, her expeditions have doubled as a platform for women and planet, supporting the fight to end violence against women and girls and bearing witness to a changing climate. The founder of She Ventures and a 1% for the Planet board member, she believes the hardest mountains are the ones within, and that all of us can climb them.

In her own words

What do you do in the mountains?

I am a mountaineer, adventurer, and activist who has climbed and explored across all seven continents. I am pursuing the Explorers Grand Slam, a feat fewer than 30 women have completed, but the mountains have never been solely about summits for me.

Since 2008, I have used my expeditions as a platform for women and planet. One in three women globally will experience violence in her lifetime. That truth has shaped why I climb and the organizations I support, including V Day, Panzi Hospital, and International Medical Corps.

The mountains have taught me the truth of interbeing: nothing exists in isolation. The wellbeing of women and the health of our planet are inseparable. Through adventure, activism, and storytelling, I seek to elevate women's voices, bear witness to places at risk, and inspire the care and action our shared future demands.

The moment that means the most

The accomplishment that means the most is not a single summit, but who I became through the journey of climbing mountains outside and within. I went from not being able to run a mile to climbing some of the highest mountains on Earth, opening my life in ways I never imagined. As a woman, I learned the power of holding a vision for my life and believing in myself before anyone else could see it.

The hardest mountains were not defined by altitude. They were the inner work of tending to my mental health, moving through fear and loss, starting over, and confronting my limitations. The mountains taught me how to keep moving through those moments and find an inner refuge, a source of strength within myself.

We all have mountains to climb, and we are capable of moving beyond the limitations we believe define us.

What's next?

What's next is a lifetime of adventure. The Explorers Grand Slam opened my eyes to a world of exploration that will continue long after I complete it. The North Pole, South Pole, Mount Vinson, and Carstensz Pyramid remain, but so do more ski mountaineering, a return to running, and countless wild places I have yet to discover.

Beyond the mountains, I am growing She Ventures, the global company I founded to expand what is possible for women and the impact they can create. At the intersection of leadership, culture, and impact, the work is grounded in interbeing, the understanding that we are not separate from nature and that how we lead, what we build, and how we care for the Earth are inseparable.
